Learning Curve

I've been teaching fly fishing to a great group of kids for the Outdoor Education class at Bentonville High School. We took a field trip to Beaver Tailwaters for some on-the-water applications. I managed to snap a few shots between instructing and untangling lines.

It was fah-reezing that day but they stuck through it like champs. Thanks, Holly, for letting me be a part of it!

Girl's Best Friend

Elizabeth is a fly fishing maniac. She wanted some prints of herself in her favorite element, and I was happy to oblige. We drove over to the Buffalo River on a recent morning when it happened to be around twenty degrees-- she's a trooper! Here are a few shots where Gracie was not splashing around in the water behind her.

And here's Gracie...

Getaway

My sweetheart booked us a cabin overlooking Beaver Lake for my birthday.  Temperatures were in the single digits and there was ice and snow all around, so we didn't venture out much.  I stitched this image together in Photoshop from many individual images I took from the porch; the resulting print would cover the wall in our living room.

Edit: Panoramas are not such a big deal anymore with the current crop of smartphones. An iPhone panorama wouldn't cover our living room wall, though!
